I wish You Well My Friend

Before starting, I want to clear one thing that by narrating these incidents here I am not provoking anyone to support the wrong deeds, my motive is not to being judgmental for your family and friends, do not ditch them and be with them when they need you.

So, few days back I was blessed with a beautiful niece and everyone at home was trying to figure out a good name for her. In India especially if you belong to a small town it's still a tradition or a belief to get the horoscope and the initial alphabet for the name of the newborns from a knowledgeable astrologer and the same case is with my family. So the initial alphabet was ‘N' or ‘S' which was drawn by our very own beloved "Pandit JI" after analyzing all stars and planets and what not. With this alphabet, we all got our ultimate life goal and that is to come up with the best suggestion for the baby girl.

I and all my cousins started rolling out the names over the internet while the other generations have their own resources like the names of the heroes and heroines from the Mahabharat, Ramayan and all the other mythological assets we have.  One old lady from the neighbor suggested "Narmada" which is the name of an Indian holy river and obviously we all rejected that name, suddenly we heard a voice "Soorpnakha" it was one of our oldest cousin who shouted this name whose story recently he has heard and we all were like what is he saying. Soorpnakha was Ravan's sister and I am assuming everyone knows that who was Ravan, then my mother explained to him that we don't keep the names of evil characters as it might bring evilness and that's true we Indian have Ram, Shyam, Shiv, Mohan and many more names associated with the good karma but we don't have names like Ravan, Duryodhana etc etc hold on then my mind jumped on one name and that is "Vibhishan" He was one of the brother of Ravan, a good man indeed who supported Lord Ram to bring her wife back from Ravan. But why not anybody named their children with his name apart from his goodness.

After thinking a lot I came up with the conclusion that why he is not as much respected as he should be for doing the good work for God itself, when he was on the right track and the reason is that he ditched his brother by disclosing the crucial information which was benefitted the Team Ram in defeating and killing Ravan.

I don't understand why people betray their friends and family, why my closest friend has to chill and hang around with my enemy at my back. Just because I keep my personal life secretive that doesn't mean I am wrong and that don't give the right to my friends to judge me on the basis of that and why that friend trusted the other ones. I totally understand we live in the world of professionalism and you cannot stop talking to anyone just because your friend got a problem with that but hiding it from your friend whom you call it "best friend" "friend forever" was really a cool or justifiable thing? But still, I wish you well my friend because you may be turned out to be a "Vibhishan" this time for the support of the Ravan though, but I am a "Karan" who is always there for his friends.

Yeah so coming back on the girl name we decided it to be "Nandini" so my dear Nandini just be a "Karan" for your friends, not a Vibhishan because there is a saying for him "Ghar ka bhedi Lanka dhaye".

A Journey From Scalar to Vector

Most of us has studied physics and must be aware of the concept of scalars and vectors. For those who did not, I am explaining here.
  • Scalars are quantities that are fully described by a magnitude alone.
  • Vectors are quantities that are fully described by both a magnitude and a direction.
Now this blog is about being scalar to being vector, the moment we all born as scalars, our surroundings start thinking about the vectorisation , he or she must be doctor or engineer or pursue the family business and what not. our upbringing mostly focuses on what we will become in future professionally. the whole life we just fighting for becoming vector from scalar in short getting direction in life. but becoming a vector is the sole solution of life ?? No, becoming a true vector is the solution. now what the hell is that true vector?

To get a direction one must have goal, but again if these goals are your inner interest then its perfectly fine you are heading towards being a true vector ,but if they are driven by others for example parents(Family) driven vectors like they say you should become only this and we start working to get the same direction without knowing the fact whether we want this or not whether we will like it or not.another example is love-driven vectors we choose that path which make us closers to our loved ones , one more is money driven vectors and many more.

Identifying our strength and interest  will give us right direction like if someone like painting and become a painter he/she will enjoy that work and that's what I call a true vector . and why I am emphasizing on being a true vector rather than just vector because this life is full of ups and downs being a true vector give us happiness and mental peace so that we can courageously deal with the life's challenges without getting depressed , we will enjoy more moments and can spread happiness to others also.

So here I hope we all try to become a true vector if not at least a vector because being scalar is so painful, not knowing what we want from ourselves will never give a direction to life and direction is important "right or wrong" - be a vector.
